I received 25-30 emails from readers who disagreed with my statement about high school football in Louisiana being as good as it is, even though over 110 prospects from the state of Louisiana signed 1-A scholarships in each of the last 10 years. Many readers stated that schools like UL-L, UL-M, Tulane and LA Tech are the reasons that Louisiana has such a high number of high school players sign division 1-A scholarships each year. I agree that Louisiana has far too many 1-A schools for the population of our state, and that at least two of the division 1-A schools in the state should be division 2-A, but I disagree that LA Tech and Tulane should not be division 1-A schools.
