Good luck to Patrick Ramsey who is starting today for the Redskins. I've never been a Redskin fan, but would like to see him do well.

Fox NFL did a very gracious piece on him. Spurrier said he wanted PR to develop as the Skins franchise QB.
His thrown for around 270 yards but has 4 interceptions. I will have to admit, I had hoped he would have a good day, but I can't pull for the redskins against the saints. Right now it's sains 43-27 with about 8 minutes left.
Saints win 43-27. Ramsey throws for over 400 yards but the 4 int's hurt. I hate to show my ignorance but where did Ramsey play college football?
Tulane. That's why I'm not so excited about the Ruston boy doing well. And, I was happy the Saints won big!
He's my cousin (his grandpa and my grandmother were 1st cousins), and I'm glad the Saints won! He was always a big TECH fan growing up, but he went to Tulane because Bowden told him he could help him get into med school when he graduated.Originally Posted by markay714
Ramsey has never played on a team with a winning record in high school or college. Ruston went 0-9 his senior year. Ramsey was 1 0f 4 QB's that committed to Tech the year he came out of high school. Ramsey later signed with Tulane and the other 3 QB's left before their senior year. Ramsey said he was going to Tulane because he would have a better chance of getting in medical school, but he wound up with a degree in business. I guess he forgot about being a doctor.
His record at Ruston High was hardly his fault. Those were the dark Billy Gillum years from which the Bearcats have yet to recover. Gillum felt Ramsey had no talent and berated him ceaselessly. Nobody would have played well under those circumstances.
Whatever happened to Gillum. I knew him years ago but haven't talked to him in a long time.
Last I heard, he was an assistant at Neville.
I believe Billy Gillum is a principle now at Neville JR High and actually Joey Pender was the coach when Ramsey played QB (for at least his Senior year and maybe his JR year). I played for Gillum at RHS and I liked him but whoever made the decision to hire him, made the wrong one. Greg Williams should have gotten the job, and Lantrip turned it down after being offerred first. RHS needs a new coach now I believe.
