Pre-Game:
No one really knows how this will end up and many Bulldawg fans head over to SMU with an uneasy feeling in their stomachs (you know the Central Florida in Ruston feeling).
Game:
Having taken note of past performances this year, Bicknell finally has the ball thrown DOWN the field (more than twice this game) and the deluge destroys any passing game we hoped to show up with. Special teams shows typical spark with Scobee hitting two decent-length field goals in a game marred by constant drizzle. Joe Smith has 1-TD on a 10-yard scamper. Tech fizzles again and loses due to poor play calling, a lackluster performance by the offense, a rotten team attitude, and nasty weather.
SMU picks up their first win, but not by much ... SMU 14 - Tech 13
Post Game:
Bicknell is "frustrated" once again. BB&B members battle with the blame game ... was it Conroy's fault, Bicknell's fault, McCown's fault? Many insist on not pointing out faults in this year's team in fear of hurting the coach's / player's feelings and hope for a win against Nevada.
Next Week:
Coach Mick calls Reneau Saturday night and seizes control of team discipline and teaches them what real Bulldogs are supposed to look like on the field. Historic standouts in Tech histroy ... Roaf, Bradshaw, Rattay, Dunnigan, Edwards, Simon, and players from the many years of oustanding Tech tradition (that I'm too young to remember) come to Ruston and whip the team into shape. After a grueling week of running stadiums and long scrimmages through the night on the practice field, Tech destroys Nevada by 5 touchdowns in a coming out party for the receivers (Piper in particular), Luke McCown looks like a genuine Heisman candidate in a fantastic homecoming game unrivaled in recent history (Tech 45 - Nevada 10).
I'm not a hater ... just entitled to my opinion. Maybe it's just a bad day at work!

Late turnover by SMU gives Tech the game. 0-7 teams FIND ways to lose games!

SMU 24, Tech 23
I go to the track every day and i have noticed our players much happier and moving much faster leaving the practice field versus entering it.
I think our problems run much deeper than most people want to admit.
