For those of you that keep posting about what a great coach Gary Crowton is or was, check out BYU's record. BYU lost again yesterday to UNLV. They are now 3-4. The Gary Crowton offense is no longer working. Good coaches have learned to defend against it. If we had lined up and played smashmouth football giving the ball to Smith or Davis every play with a pass mixed in every now and then, we would have beaten Rice and SMU. We did not even get a first down in the 3rd quarter yesterday. That is pitiful.

i agree with you don. The run was very successful yesterday and we completely abonded it in the third quarter. somebody on the coaching staff owes ralph davis a huge apology for absolutely screwing him over on an entire year of college football.

If that is so obvious to you, me, our competition, and others, why did we only let Joe Smith run the ball a total of 13 times? Granted his meager 13 rushing attempts were for an amazing 135 yards & 3 TDs! I truly feel for Joe Smith in his senior season on this grossly underachieving, yet veteran football team.

Can't explain why we refused to redshirt Ralph Davis (who never saw the field yesterday), Ladarius Love (who never saw the field yesterday), or Ryan Moats (who only saw kickoff duty). They might as well have been eating nachos & drinking a Coke next to me & Chris Norwood's folks. <--Very nice people by the way!

We need to recruit two more big backs like Joe Smith immediately to get some balance in our offense. In my opinion that's what good offensive coaches do. They recruit & utilize personnel who enable us to switch to the run if the passing game isn't effective or if the running game isn't effective go to the pass.

In defense of Crowton, he has no QB. He's been working with four different QB's this year and they are not good.

Why would you or anyone else defend Crowton? He has caused our program huge embarrassments while he was our coach. He did not recruit any defensive players while he was here.
