Another pretty good pitching night. Bats were much hotter than they were last weekend.
Here's to going 6-0 tomorrow with zero LOB.

You can’t have runners LOB if you hit homers every at bat.
Here’s to hitting a homerun every at bat.
Good start to the season, keep it rolling Dawgs. Just win, baby!
It’s so quick, I’d swear it wasn’t even on!
Very well done Dawgs. Today’s game was the overall best one of the year so far. The pitching was solid again and the defense did their part when needed. McConnell is batting as well as we hoped he would. The one change that absolutely has to happen is to replace Drost who went 0-4 today on 4 Ks and is now on a 6 K streak. Seriously, enough is enough.
LB has a history of "latching on" to players who look the part, but just can't get it done. Anything Drost does or does not do is on our HC. I can't imagine what it must be like to be one of those players sitting the bench who out hit him in practice every day. How long do the players and fans have to endure the looking at strike three?
Pitching good again today, but LB waited too long to pull the obvious guy who needed to come out. It's like he keeps betting on his locker room decisions instead of game time decisions.
BTW D80, Corona finally hit a pop up to right field today. Since he is a "natural" at fly balls I know you will be happy.
I want Drost to be great so badly! He is equal to or inferior to many of our other options in the field and he hits worse than all of them.
I was thinking the same thing about the rest of the players watching Drost strike out ugly over and over and yet he keeps trotting out to right field as if everything is perfectly fine. Even the other starters have to be wondering what’s going on. I can’t imagine how he earned the position to start and I sure can’t see how he’s keeping it. Eventually this unjustifiable favoritism is going to have a negative impact on the team. Evidently Burroughs can’t see that he’s making Drost’s problems worse. The more he strikes out, the more he’s going to keep striking out. It’s already a reinforcing state of mind and a lack of belief in oneself.
Got dem brooms just a swinging! Good job Dawgs!
Of course, we haven't played anybody worth a darn, after all, the two teams we beat were combined 0-7 against us. Oh wait...
j/k Keep it rolling Dawgs!
An especially good thing so far is that to the largest degree the Dawgs aren’t playing down to the competition like what they’ve done in years past. I really liked seeing our reserve players get hits today. That tells me what I’ve been thinking all along. That there are some favored players who shouldn’t be seemingly automatically given starting positions. Great start Dawgs. Keep it up!
Great showing this weekend! We got to see some bench players late today and they did well. Netterville didn't have the bat on his shoulder then made two plays for the last two outs. One of them was a top 10 play. Pitching has been solid so far. I like our Sunday guy for Friday. He has been great so far.
Drost has no confidence - you can see it not only in his swings but also in his mannerisms and body language
At least with Safford you have a better glove and a bat that can make contact with the ball
Pitching was really good this weekend - could of easily allowed 4 or 5 less runs if LB uses the hook when he should of
The only one who really struggled was the frosh from Glenbrook - Harmon, which hopefully was a case of nerves -
Competition ramps up dramatically this week, should have a better feel of who they might be come this time next week
