I notice that some new posts go up with the "New" tag, still with zero posts listed and some others do not. there seems to be some inconsistency in this.

Can some one please explain exactly how the "New" tag feature works?

When you first log in, the "new" tag shows up on topics with new posts SINCE the last time you logged in.

If someone starts a new topic, it will also have the "new" tag.

If someone posts in a topic while you are online, it will have a "new" tag.

When you say zero "posts", I assume you mean the number of "replies" column. A new topic has a single post and then any posts after that are replies.

So, a topic with 10 posts has an initial post with 9 replies listed in the column.

    Hope this helps...
