Grey Team Takes First Two Games of Fall World Series

GREY TEAM TAKES TWO GAME LEAD IN FALL WORLD SERIES

RUSTON - The Grey Team has taken the first two games of Louisiana Tech's "Fall World Series" after a 12-7 win on Friday night.

The Grey team scored 12 runs on 15 hits to win 12-7 and give the Grey a two game advantage in the best-of-seven series. All seven games will be played regardless of the outcomes.

Dan Preaus, Wade Robinson and Kyle Spangler paced the Grey offense with three hits each. Jeremy Alford added a home run for the Grey and Eric Emfinger had three RBI.

Jon Lockwood pitched three innings and allowed one earned run and struck out four in his outing for the win.

The Blue team was led by Ben Tabor and Adam Dodson with two hits each.

Tyson Toal, Jason Schneider and Richard Morgan combined to allow only one run in the final three innings to seal the win for the Grey team.

In game one of the series, the Grey team defeated the Blue team by a 6-3 score on Wednesday night at J.C. Love Field.

Senior Wade Robinson homered for the Grey team in the victory. Junior college transfer Jeremy Alford smashed a two-run double for the Grey team in the win,

The Grey team also got solid pitching from Matt Varner, Andrew Alsup and Chris Herron in the victory. Varner was the starter in the game.

The series will continue with 1 p.m. games on Saturday and Sunday at J.C. Love Field.
