All our Dawgs played good aka Tyler Henry. Inspite of refs working against us.
Yes, it was a total team effort. But I specifically mentioned Sean Newman because I have been hard on him all year. Tonight he stepped up bigly!
The refs were homers to a certain extent. Not nearly as bad as the ones at NMSU recently, whoa! Iso needs to keep his cool. Yes, he got hammered several times, no call, and on the other end we breathe on someone and get nailed with a foul. There was some of that tonight, but so one-sided as I have seen.
We were 25 of 32 from the FT line 78%, they were 18 of 25 for 72%. But most of our fouls were called against us in the 2nd half, so it seemed worse than it was for the whole game.
Most impressive 3 game road win streak I can remember -
Win at El Paso in the Haskins Center
Win at Las Cruces in the Pan-American Center
Win at Bowling Green at Diddle Arena
That is a very tough feat - extremely difficult to achieve
This time of year its all about the guard play - the next two weeks will be defined by our guard play
As D80 stated - Newman was outstanding
Chavez was Chavez and Henry was clutch
We get that type of guard play each time we step on the court the next two weeks and we just might get that 30+ year old monkey off our backs
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
And it is not just that they won these three tough places to win (although that is hard enough). They are doing it with all the pressure of the conference title riding on each one. Without the tie-breaker we had to keep pace with SHSU to keep control of our destiny riding on that upcoming home game. Proud of these guys. Next one is also HUGE.
