    Dude -

Compare DBU's OOC slate vs ours - it's not even close their Non Conference SOS is 76 ours 248...

I don't mind the SLC schools so much or SBC schools - but there is no way we should of scheduled Northern Colorado, hell schedule Grambling instead - Kent St is normally a good schedule but not this year

DBU is playing OSU, OU, Zona, Bama, Baylor, TCU just to name a few...

OK. Now how much of their athletic budget did Dallas Baptist spend on football? For Tech to play OSU, OU, Bama, Baylor, TCU and most of the other high rpi baseball programs, Tech would have to travel to almost every one of those schools because they aren't coming here. Do we have that kind of money in our budget?

    Re: Sugarland

Remember this, scheduling is a two way street. The other team has to see some value in playing Tech which after last year wasn’t a great selling point. Just like Tech has learned playing NColorado there was no value in it. Unbelievably enough (haha) Sharky is right about the fact that Tech had better play every game to win, obviously, but how they do that is a matter of the players Burroughs plays. To be realistic there has to be no more fooling around with unreliable or enormously inconsistent performers. Tech needs to approach every game with a chip on its shoulder that they’re disrespected because they are. Just ask the Sunbelt and AAC why they didn’t want Tech and you’ll have your answer.

    Just win baby!

I know this, if we win enough of the right games, we will be national champions! On to Omaha, baby!

First, get into the Dance, then win! Simple formula, eh!

The Golden Flashes might recover some once they hit their conference slate. I imagine they play on the road a lot early. That one may not end up so bad after a while.

They are a baseball centric school - not arguing that, that wasn't even in the discussion

But that's not what you said - you said THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT DALLAS BAPTIST DOES EVERY SEASON AND SOMEHOW IT WORKS OUT OK FOR THEM...

So my point stands - DBU does basically the opposite, they try to get the best of the best to come to them and they don't schedule the Holy Sisters of the Poor and I bet if their contracts were available to the public they wouldn't show high game guarantees, in all actuality they may be lower than ours do to the fact those schools want to travel to high alumni bases and fertile recruiting grounds...

Nothing, I was just saying we have a good bullpen era.

Yes, and we'd have more if they didn't waste it on WBB.

Can't make that argument. They are both non-revenue sports, both liabilities to the bottom line, not assets. It's just matter of choosing which (if any) financial liability you want. It would be interesting, though, to do a side-by-side comparison though. Such as

    Total Revenue - total cost = _______

And the intangibles such as how many people learn about Tech via WBB vs. baseball, i.e. from a purely marketing POV, which drives the most people to Tech, etc...

Might be, after such a study, it would be better to take money away from baseball and channel more to WBB.

I sense some sarcasm in your reply. So, you think it's not good to have a strong bullpen. Kind of like that whole "let's leave as many runners stranded as possible, who wants to score runs anyway" thingy.

Whatever... WBB sucks and has since the 80s.

We'll have more tomorrow night at the baseball game than attend a half dozen WBB games combined. Been that way for 10 years or more. Of course you don't attend games so you don't have a clue.

You are probably excited that Kaitland Clark has been crowned the all time scoring leader of "basketball".

Okay, let's take 6 WBB games at random, add their attendance and compare to tomorrow night's baseball crowd. Bet you wouldn't want to bet on that outcome. For the record, I don't want to bet either. As for attending games, nope! not making that 150-mile roundtrip much anymore, especially at night.

    Re: Sugarland

I haven’t been to a WBB game in decades for obvious reasons, how bad they’ve become to how great they were. One thing that made a big impression on me back then was that the crowd included a surprisingly lot of elderly people. No doubt that elderly crowd in the numbers there were are long gone and not being replaced. Then there are the younger people and students. I think everyone knows that neither of these groups do much of anything that doesn’t involve a bottle or a phone so I seriously doubt that they’re attending in any decent numbers. Head to head I think on almost any good weather day, Tech baseball has more fans than WBB.
