Guard White leaves Gators, plans to transfer

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Sophomore guard James White has left the Florida basketball team and plans to transfer.

"We're disappointed in James' decision to leave the University of Florida, but we wish him nothing but the best," coach Billy Donovan said on Sunday.

White, who quit the team Saturday, has not announced where he plans to go next.

White, of Kensington, Md., has previously said he was frustrated that he played only 20.5 minutes a game last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds as a freshman.

He has been suspended three times, once for violating team rules last year and twice this season for possessing a paintball gun.

I know.... But he was one of their top freshmen last season and could have been in for a breakout year. Like I said, that is only just one of many weapons they had to use against us...

We need to get in on him---they have paint ball contestes here in Shreveport. Hell he can stay with me on the weekend and in Ruston during the week. :lol: This kid is a great player. This will be a big lost for them. They have a kid name Lee. If someone see him at the game, ask him how Wayne Powell beat the hell out of him. He didnt want to play anymore after the 3rd quarter.....

Lee has started at center for them in both exhibition games this season.

white and lee both played in the high school all american game. i read on espn i believe that he may go to cincy. he had good size for a guard and we may have had trouble matching up with him.

This guy just sounds like somebody that ends up at UL Lafayette.

Or with the Bearcats. They are known for shady characters. Remember the guy who tied up his roommate and then tortured him. He was a Cincy player. This kid doesn't appear to be as messed up, but he'd fit right in.
