Antonio Meeking burst on the scene for Louisiana Tech four years ago when he was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year.

Now a senior, the Bulldogs are looking for big things from Meeking this season.

"I really think Antonio is going to have a great year based on his work habits this spring, summer and fall," Tech coach Keith Richard said. "It's almost been like a completely different player."

Not that the 6-foot-8 Meeking had a lot of faults.

He averaged 11.2 points per game as a freshman and 14 points per game as a sophomore. Last year as a junior, in his first season in the Western Athletic Conference, Meeking averaged 11.2 points per game.

He begins his senior season as a preseason All-WAC selection.

"Antonio's had great moments here," Richard said. "He just hasn't been consistent, particularly on the road in his career so far. I just have a feeling he's going to have a great year."

Meeking has certainly impressed those he goes up against.

"He's a guy that I thought could play at the next level," Centenary coach Kevin Johnson said. "I know a lot is riding on this season and what he does. He's tough to handle."
