It was a game of men versus boys tonight. USM have 5 home runs to Tech’s zero. Burroughs absolutely has to quit wasting playing time on Drost. It’s absolutely pointless. His playing can’t be appreciated by the rest of the team. Davis needs more fielding playing time as does Comeaux who needs more at bats too. Corona is in a funk batting and he knows it. We all know Evans needs more time behind the plate so now might be a good time to give it to him. It’s really disappointing to see the Dawgs great start to the season seem so suddenly tarnished by these last two rather poorly played games in. We seem to be failing at what’s important at the worst possible times.

Drost is a liability and most everyone except LB sees this. LB has a stubbornness to him that he plays favorites to the team's detriment sometimes. He seems to want Drost to be a junkyard dawg, but Drost just isn't that dude.
However, more concerning was our pitching last night that did us absolutely no favors. You need a better Friday night starter. Gotta keep these games close. Friday night sets the tone for the rest of the weekend. Let's pray for a bounce back game tonight, otherwise the weekend becomes a long one.
I would say Smith is the worst of our weekend starters. Why he starts on Friday is hard to understand.
LB has NEVER used his best on Friday.
There’s good news for today’s game, Burroughs is sitting Drost (.174) in favor of Safford (.071). You can’t make this shit up. The rippling effects of repeated bad decision making is beyond computation. That subject alone would be a very interesting discussion to get into. Good luck Dawgs in overcoming your coach and then the opponent after him. Before the game has even started we’re down at least 1-0 on player personnel.
Just for the sake of conversation and playing devil’s advocate, can you even come up with a best guess at how it’s logical to the coaching staff to make these decisions?
Safford is batting .071 and now worse with a Strikeout. You can have a perfect fielding percentage and still not justify that bat. What the heck?

Tech will always be at a coaching disadvantage with Burroughs.
Many of us knew Fouts was a liability last year. LB protected him.
