Apparently one of Tennessee's stars just went down with an injury. Gwen Jackson will most likely be out for the rest of the season. I will post a link when I find the story.

Well, it wasn't Gwen - it was Brittany Jackson. Here is the story:

gee what was Jackson -the best 3 point shooter for Tenn. doing in the lineup with 29 seconds remaining and Tenn leading by 35!!
HUH?
Well, I will definitely miss seeing her. :-)
I don't understand why she was still playing in that game either. She has been a starter all year and is one of their best players. Go figure.....
take off the god awful orange uniform and she has potential.
Here's what one of the Vol fans said about the deal
.And to make it clearer - Jackson was subbing in for Moore, who had played a lot of minutes. Of the four remaining players on the floor, only one was a guard (Tasha Butts). The three remaining guard possibilities were Brittany Jackson, Kara Lawson, and Shanna Zolman. Kara and Shanna had both played significantly more minutes than Brittany
Apparently Jackson wasn't really considered the strongest of their current group of guards -- 3 pointers or no.
She has started for them. I watched the Tenn./Ok. game and she was a key player.
Fact is that Tenn. is not very deep this year.
Here is the latest:

She is their third best scorer and has hit 12 three pointers already this season.
Her potential would be obvious regardless of what color uniform she was taking off!
From the Bulldog fables:
After the last time the Techsters whipped the Lady Vols, the young Bulldog said, "Let's run out on the court and console one of the Lady Vols."
The old Bulldog replied, "Let's walk out on the court and console them all!"
I think you hit it on the head about depth Champ -- especially at guard. Looking at their roster, they just don't have much depth in the backcourt. I know it's a down year for a lot of teams, but their guards have been almost as suspect as ours lately -- they don't look like a sure FF team to me -- even if they hadn't lost Jackson.
Of course, tonight might give a different picture. Let's hope not.
