It is not beyond reason that we could win this tournament. I think we are better than Sam Houston, but have been totally flat playing them (especially that second time). In order to win it, we are going to have to play up to our potential - that scares me.
We still suck at guard, but that can't be helped right now. Well at PG, Chavez is a good shooting guard. And with Miller, Jr. out that means Iso and Batcho will have to log a lot of minutes and stay out of foul trouble. That won't happen, and so realistically, I see no path to the Dance this year. We can beat any CUSA team on any given night, that is true, but a tournament like this requires so much more from a team and we simply lack the tools. CUSA refs are horrible so Iso and Batcho will get tagged with at least two called fouls each that are not fouls.Originally Posted by champion110

All our hopes ride with the Dawgs. WBB might win once but then they will face MTSU…Baseball is cooked for this season, nothing grand is going to happen (will be fortunate to finish above.500 even with the 12-0 start.) Football will be another 3-9 type season, so, here we are looking to the Dawgs to bring a little joy and success to Tech Nation.
Until they fall short I am going to get behind the Dawgs and assume they have a legit shot of dancing.

Dawgs 32 MTSU 27 HALFTIME
Refs letting them play, which is preferred to calling ticky-tack fouls. But man, our guys are getting hammered and they have 3 fouls total. They have shot 12 FTs to our 2 at the half.
MTSU is up by 5, 12 mins left. They are simply out-playing, out-hustling us right now. They are 14 of 15 from the FT line, we are 4 of 8. 10 point difference right there.
Not making the easy play. Not hustling. Not following our shots. Most of this is coaching. We aren’t even being outcoached in the game. It’s all in the preparation.
Commentator talking about all that matters is playing well at the end of the season. Middle will get trounced in the next game. It’s not them, it’s us.
We just lost no matter what. Out of a timeout, we had nothing set up. Newman and Crawford are horrendous with the ball in their hands.
Hands down the best two players in the conference and we never seem to have a play called in the last minute. Just throw it in and let’s see what happens. I’m so tired of everything to do with this worthless athletic department.
