You forgot to add in POUTY and the worse body language of a supposed star player that I have ever seen in all my years of following TECH...

Never ever seen a player of his caliber POUT like he does when things aren't going his way or play so out of control...

I've seen them get MAD and try to take over a game, but never out and out POUT and make bonehead plays like he does

I think MTSU punched a ticket to the Big Dance...not theirs, but SHSU's. I honestly believe Tech is the only team that could have possibly denied Sam Houston the tournament title, with us gone, SHSU should breeze to the title. Yeah, they might have/probably would have beaten us anyway, but I think we're the only team that might have stopped 'em.

That said, one caveat! UTEP. The Uteppers have been playing very well down the stretch and beat Liberty today to get a matchup with SHSU in the semis. Ya just never know.

1/2 right? Like a politician - let's say something, but leave room for something else

MT is a terrible team. That’s what makes our loss so bad.

    They lost to a team that’s 14-19!!!

    That’s called a choke.

Not totally surprised by the results today. Had a feeling MTSU was not going to be up for today's game having shot their wad against us. And UTEP, well, they have been playing well recently.

If his last name was Stoehr, he would. Heck, they'd even hire his wife as co-head coach.

Grambling winning the SWAC tournament makes Tech officially the longest drought in tournament appearances in the state of Louisiana.

Every other Louisiana school has made it at least once since we last went.

    Re: 2024 C-USA Tournament

    Season review...

    Our non-conference schedule:

McNeese, Grand Canyon, and New Mexico all had very good seasons and all are dancing. Seattle (14-4 at home) and Colorado State (15-2 at home) had winning seasons and were tough to beat at their place. St. Louis was a bad loss. Not making excuses, just trying to put it all into perspective. In CUSA play we did okay, splitting with WKU the eventual "dancer," and having the only overall winning road record, at 8-7, in the conference.

Our issues all season was a lousy backcourt, which never got better, and some "low IQ" play from all of our guys at times which I attribute to mediocre (at best) coaching. And of course, the ole bugger-boo of missed FTs especially in close games. Not totally surprising as I had low-medium expectations prior to the start of the season, so I am only mildly disappointed. This team could have, should have done better.

Now, it's all about who comes back for next season.

That is pretty much our season review for the past umpteen years now. I will say with the exception of the "low IQ" play.. we have had a some guys come through the past 10 years that were smart players. They may have been hampered by some questionable coaching at times, and in my 47 years on earth I can probably count on 1 maybe 2 hands how many times we have shot free throws well, but I need a calculator to count how many games and "important" games at that we have lost by less than 5 points. It should not be hard to figure out, but it seems to be.

We were competitive and saw our share of tournaments when we were competing in regional D1-AA conferences. We are not, have never been, and will never be a relevant D1-A athletic program. Not enough local fan base or enough money.

I see that Colorado State got an at-large berth, play-in game for a 10th seed.
