    Realignment continues

@PeteThamel: Sources: UTRGV officials informed WAC officials they are leaving the WAC for the Southland Conference, a change that’s expected for the 2024-25 season. UTRGV finished last in the WAC in both men’s and women’s basketball in 2023-24. They are expected to owe the WAC $2 million.

    Interesting.

They're essentially swapping out SFA/Tarleton/Abilene Christian and then a bunch of far west schools for southern Texas schools (Incarnate Word/Houston Christian/A&M-Corpus Christi/Lamar) and the Louisiana FCS schools (plus A&M-Commerce).

So I can see that this would be much more regional for them.

I'm pretty sure SFA & Tarleton are hoping for the FCS jump. Don't know about ACU. UTRGV just trying to stay alive.
