The computer of my secretary (A/K/A my wife) crashed. When she tried to reboot, we got a message that sytem files have been restored and asked if we wanted to reboot, leaving us no option but to reboot. When we reboot, the same message keeps coming back up.
To give some background, last week the computer would turn to a blue screen and say "Restoring System Files" and nothing would happen. I went to a step by step boot, skipping the registration, and it worked for a few days. Yesterday, that quit working, so I got the computer to a c prompt and typed scanreg/restore. From there I picked a valid backup file, and the computer worked fine until a few minutes ago.
I'm hoping there is an easy solution, but I fear there may be a memory problem.
Does anyone literate in computers have a suggestion?
