how do you insert an image saved to a file on my computer? Thanks for help, I'm clueless.

You need to upload the file to a web server that allows you to link remotely to it. Most free web space will not allow you to do that anymore.

If anyone knows of a good place, post it here.

Yes you can. If I'm not mistaken, what you need to do is right click on the image and go to "properties". Then write down the URL(http://...) Come back here and and click the button above that says "Img". These buttons are available when making a post, not when reading. Then after the [img] type in the URL. Then press the "Close Tags" Then submit your post. I think that will do it.

Copy and paste the URL into a message (needs to end in .jpg or .gif etc.)

Highlight the message with your mouse

then click on 'Img' above the posting box
