    Weekend Rotation for Nebraska
Junior Aaron Marsden will take the hill against the Bulldogs Friday evening. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound left-hander went five innings against Southwest Texas on Feb. 14, allowing five runs - two earned - on eight hits, but did not get the decision in NU’s 9-6 victory. Last season, he earned first-team All-Big 12 honors, going 8-1 with a 2.70 ERA in his first season as a Husker. The Grand Forks, N.D., native made 20 appearances, including 13 starts, and threw 100.0 innings in 2002. Over the summer, he pitched in the Northwoods League, going 8-2 with a league-low 1.60 ERA and was chosen as the league’s best overall prospect. He also earned second-team Summer All-America honors from Baseball America.

Left-hander Brian Duensing (pronounced DONE-zing) will look to move to 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Omaha native was NU’s nominee for Big 12 pitcher of the week after hurling six innings of two-hit ball against UT-Pan American last Saturday. In that outing, he struck out three and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning to pick up the victory. Duensing earned Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball in 2002, going 6-2 with a 4.73 ERA. He struck out 60 in 78 innings, while holding opponents to a .270 batting average. Duensing was one of NU’s best pitchers down the stretch, earning NCAA Lincoln Regional with 6.2 innings of shutout ball against UW-Milwaukee. He picked up the win in the series finale against Louisiana Tech last season, throwing three innings of no-hit ball, strking out three in a 5-1 Husker win.

Senior co-captain Jamie Rodrigue (pronounced Rod-REEG) will likely take the hill in Sunday’s series finale against the Bulldogs. He lasted just four innings against Cal on Sunday, allowing five runs on six hits, but did not factor in the decision. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound left-hander compiled a 7-3 record and a 4.15 ERA in a team-high 16 starts in 2002. The St. Clair, Mo., native already holds NU’s single-season (four in 2000) and career (six) shutout records, is tied for fourth in school history with 22 career wins and tied for second with Mike Zajeski with 47 career starts. He needs only one inning to pass John Lepley (264.1) into fifth place on NU’s career innings chart. Over the summer, he was selected to the National Baseball Congress All-America team, going 1-0 without allowing an earned run in 14 innings, helping Nevada (Mo.) to a third-place finish. He is 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA in two career starts against Louisiana Tech.
