Probably not - since it hasn't been pulled off since 2001 by a TECH hardball team -

But that is what the Diamond Dawgs did this weekend -

Great pitching performance by Adam friday night - with a 9th inning come back -

Solid pitching from Lockwood saturday - then they blow a 3 run lead and then come back dramatically in the 8th inning -

Then the Dawgs out and out thumped them yesterday afternoon with a real good pitching performance from Varner -

First WAC swwep ever for the Dawgs -

Now lets beat the Demons weds nite...

I would throw Adam and then come back with him on Sunday at Fresno -

These mid week games against the local schools (even Centenary) mean alot more than we think in the local recruiting battles with NWSt, the juco, McNeese, etc etc -

We have only been able to beat the juco in the last few years on a consistent basis -

We really need some wins versus the Demons and Injuns - a couple of sweeps will go a long way in re-establishing TECH with the local baseball schools along I-20...

Granted the WAC is the BIG picture, but we can't treat these games as throw aways - as I think we have in the past...

And I don't think Coach Sim considers any game a throw away...

I hope you're right. I was thinking we might go with Chedister depending on how he was throwing lately but I didn't think we would start one of our weekend guys just b/c. I noticed that Tucker pitched once this weekend and I don't think Schneider did maybe one inning. I completely agree that these midweek games are important for the reason of establishing Tech baseball in LA and recruiting. Maybe when we get some pitching depth in a couple of years it won't matter who we start b/c they'll all be great. Adam threw 142 pitches this weekend I noticed so I am not sure he'll be throwing. The SJSU ace threw 143! WOW.
