Begins tonight, right?
Big series, need to win it, 2 to 1 works okay.

FIU always swings the bats well
Lots of talent in South Florida
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
FYI, Dave said on Sunday we are playing at 5:30. ESPN+ is showing 5:30. Schedule shows 5:30. Not surprised that our peeps are saying 6:00 on the baseball site.
From what I understand it doesn’t matter now as Mickey Mouse LaTech has announced that due to equipment issues the game won’t be available on 97.7 or the Tech app. Tech is so often so pathetic.
Going well so far. Only 1-6 in the bottom of the 2nd
12-4 after 6. Fouts’ pitching staff pitching like he coached them. After last year he shouldn’t even still be at Tech, but that’s what you get with Burroughs as the strategist and decision maker.
Tech pitching walked 6 and hit 4 FIU batters. They scored 12 runs with 2 outs. One thing that can be said about Tech is when they lose, they typically lose big and ugly.
It's all about pitching. Giving up hits is part of the game, but putting guys on with walks and hit batters is just bad pitching. In the first two innings we gave up 7 hits, but only 1 earned run. That set the tone, then Comeaux's homer put us back in the game. Then our pitching took over the game again in a negative way.
Hopefully this was just a bad day.
Oh, and NEVER talk about stuff like being hot or 250 wins during the middle of the season. Try to focus on getting the little things right like posting correct game times or actually getting a game on the air via radio. Our new President and AD have a lot of work to do.
What credible broadcasting operation doesn’t have something as simple as a backup power cord or couldn’t have made the effort to find one last minute in one of the many Miami stores? Instead Tech resorts to a broadcast that sounded like it was done between tin cans and a piece of string. Fouts and Burroughs in each of the parts they’ve played have completely destroyed Martinez’s pitching capabilities. Once upon a time he had potential and then in the master hands of mess-it-up Fouts everything went sour. What a shame. It makes you wonder what other pitcher he’s messing up. I have a feeling we’re going to find out game by game.
The right field revolving door has turned in Safford’s favor tonight, so we’ll see how that goes.
7-6, by the hair of the Dawg’s chinny, chin, chin. Tech tried to give it away in a few different ways. Smith and Corona did their parts. Our 6, 7, 8 & 9 batters went 0-13.
Baseball is at its best in nailbiter one-run games.
Just watched a replay (obviously) of a World Series game between the Braves and Twins, well, not the whole game, highlights. Love how EVERY frickin' pitch, every at-bat was crucial, even in the early innings. FOX Sports doing the broadcast and doing a great job of bringing the tension alive. Love it.
I suppose every sport is "at its best" in close games, but there is something special about baseball.
Anyway, Go Dawgs! let's win this series.
Damn broadcaster jinx! Right after we turned the double play and the TV guy praised Tech's infield as one of the best, very next pitch an error on our SS. Shut up already!
Question is how long can we ride Bates as our closer? Couple of year ago LB burned out our closer, can't even remember the pitcher's name (having a senior moment). We lost in the regionals and our closer had something like 70+ innings pitched for the season. In the CWS I noted EVERY closer for those teams was in only their 40+ innings pitched for the season, and in more games than Tech played. Don't tell me LB didn't ride our guy too much, and he's doing the same thing to Bates.
I think you’re talking about Crigger and yeah was spent by the latter part of the year. If Burroughs can get it right he’ll use Broderson and Bates wisely. Tech reportedly going with a shake-up team today with Bates in RF, Evans @ 1st & Comeaux as the DH.
