Let's do some things similar to what Clemson, Baylor, Rice, and VaTech do right before teams are led onto the field. It's time we start getting the students involved in the actual pregame hype. I really like the way Clemson and Baylor students crowd the entrance onto the playing field, this way students can actually touch the players as they run through. I think this would create more emotion and excitement for the students and especially the players. I can't tell you how good it feels to see your fellow students actually on the field giving you high 5's and hitting you on your shoulder pads, it's just a great feeling. It's time we start showing the players that the student body is behind them. Any thoughts??

We need to make certain the law enforcement officials aren't waiting at the other end of the line with mace in hand and handcuffs ready.

I'm hoping that we can clear that up since the son of the RPD Chief is now a tight end on the team. Tanner Hermes is a walk-on from RHS and has had an outstanding spring, he saw plenty of action during the spring game.

Great idea! I like the way Baylor does it. Just the freshman get to do this but at TECH we need to allow the entire student body.

No I like the ideal of just allowing FR to do it. It is something new and a tradition that could be started and hopefully get new students involved early and keep them excited about Tech sports.

Too many more incidents like what happened in Chicago the other night, and there is NO WAY that would fly! They'd put nets up around the stadiums to keep people from getting on the field!

I like the idea. ESPECIALLY with the Freshmen. It does a couple of things. First is sets a tradition. Second, if they would REALLY MARKET it TO the Freshmen, they might actually show up for the game and then be more likely to come when they become upper classmen.

In the early 70s we went on to the field for the pregame tunnel for the football team.

Folks, the 'fans on the field' suggestion is good. However, getting our team 'up' for the beginning of football games has not been a problem. It's getting the team (including fans) 'up' in the 2nd half that's been a recurring issue.

From another perspective, it would be great if there were promotions/giveaways (primarily for students) in the 3rd & 4th quarter of games based on Tech scoring a TD. Each time Tech scores another giveaway occurs.

Perhaps this would keep more of the east side fans in the stadium and cheering after halftime. People certainly get crispy, ripe, and physically drained after about 1 1/2 hours in the sun.
