Poor Weather Cancels Bulldog Baseball Game
Posted May 14, 2003 19:33:57
RUSTON, La. – For the third time this season, Louisiana Tech had a game cancelled due to poor weather.
The Tech-Louisiana Monroe contest was in the top of the third inning when lightening and heavy rains moved into the Ruston area forcing the cancellation.
The umpires stopped play at 6:50 p.m. and about 15 minutes later the contest was called. The score was tied at 2-2.
The game will not be made up.
Tech's two runs were scored on a home run by Ben Tabor but all stats accumulated will not count.
Louisiana Tech returns to action on May 22nd when the Bulldogs open a three-game Western Athletic Conference baseball series to conclude the season

Big Dog
ULM had two outs and bases loaded when rain/lightning forced cancellation. Quite a water show in Ruston last night, with thunderstorms until 5 am. Haven't seen any totals, but it was a good night to be a duck.

I counted 6 trees down between the Simsboro and Arcadia exits on the way home -
Of course I couldn't see 3ft in front of me between Ruston and Simsboro so there might have been more -
