TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Rookie free agent receiver Ahmad Harris signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.

Harris caught 56 passes for 717 yards and eight touchdowns in two seasons at Louisiana Tech. He had 28 receptions for 428 yards and four TDs as a senior in 2002.

Congrats Ahmad. I was wondering why he hadn't signed yet. Of course his numbers weren't that great for 2 years in a passing offense, but he is fast, smooth, runs good routes and has great hands. I am still not sure why he didn't have a better career at Tech other than we didn't get him the ball enough.

Gooddawg, Ahmad is a good athlete who has decent speed and good hands but, he lacks toughness. I went and watched a few practices last year and was totally disgusted with they way he handled himself on the field. I will not go into detail as to what he did out there(which was not alot). I just do not see ahmad being an NFL player. I can remember on The hidden NFL when Jeryy Glanville was giving a new rookie official a piece of his mind about an earlier call. He told him. "NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG" when you make calls like that. Ahmad will not be there very long if he does not get a little "intestinal fortitude" and quit being such a prima donna.

I think I read where he ran a 4.4 on pro day and that is fast.
I hope he does well and I don't think Gruden will put up with much so we'll see how that turns out.

Actually, I am happy with things right now:

Bicknell has learned the leasons he needs to learn to start dominating WAC play. I look for a nice season from the DAWGS.

I like the work Oakes and Walker have been doing. We are at a point we have never been at before.

I think our bed has been made if reailignment comes calling - I have no problem with the possible reallignments. It is schools like USM and TCU that are at rope's end - not Tech.

We get more bang for the buck than any other D1A school. The athletic staff we have is small but they bust their butts (for the most part) for Tech.

We are playing the Miami Huricanes in Shreveport!

We get to go between the hedges in 2007 (i think).

We do not play ULM in football.

Things are looking up for us.

The first two you mentioned. No one is talking about # 3 you mentioned.

let me clear #3 up - everyone is tight lipped - that makes me think we have something lined up already - usually when tech does not have a plan SOMEONE at Tech will talk your ear off about it - tyring to put the blame somewhere else.

I would not be surprised to see TCU and Houston slip back into the WAC - but that is just my guess.
