Ruston attracting new businesses

I can't remember who stated several months ago that a movie cinema chain wanted to open in Ruston if the alcohol referrendum got passed. Marquee Cinema will be in town July 9th to make it happen.

Also, several restaurants will locate near the cinema for obvious reasons. These should all be very beneficial for the Ruston economy.

?We have got restaurants actually waiting to come in here based on where the theater will be. They are literally knocking on the door to locate in Ruston and near the theater.

?In addition to the restaurants which are interested independently, the cinema company itself has a group of restaurants which follow them from location to location because they know locating near these cinemas means good business.?

A selection team from Marquee Cinema will come to Ruston July 9th to decide where to build the new theater. Ruston community members and merchants think the new theater will bring more traffic to the city and keep people from hitting the road for West Monroe. The community is also hopeful the movie theater will lead the way to more restaurants and businesses setting up in downtown Ruston. The team is looking at several locations to build the new cinema. Changes are expected in the next six months.
