So, for those at the dinner tonight - your thoughts on Bicknell's words?
I loved the part about the players coming in as boys and leaving as men.
He said there have been no major off the field problems during the last seven years - I beg to differ.
He should refer to players as STUDENT/Athletes not just athletes.
He speaking skills are a helluva lot better that they were 5 years ago.
He still praises the other team too much - heck even the ULx coach is saying that ULx is going to give LSU all they want and more. Don't be cocky but do not sell yourself short.
On another note, that might have been the best Monroe event ever. It tops anything ulx does and even outdid the TAF's last Monroe event.
BTW - Dr. D stated we closed out the athletic year (june 2003) with a 85k surpluss. I guess that nets us out for the prior year.

Great Job, Tech Alumni Association! It was a very nice event, and I LOVE my mousepad.
It was classic JB-III, and to your point, FIM, I think we've all come to expect Jack's humility toward our opponents...which is probably a good thing, as I suppose there's less lockerroom poster-bait that way...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another classic from last night:
Jack III: "I told my wife...'Helen, you know I'm at my best when I'm under fire...'"
Helen B: "Well, you should be at the top of your game then."
Go ahead on, Mrs. B!!!
A little disappointed in Dr Reneau's State of the University address. He seemed a little less prepared for this one than I've noted in other Happenings. I really appreciated the fact that on several occasions, Tech's "measuring stick" was LSU-Baton Rouge instead of other ULS schools. It's THAT mindset will push Tech into direct competition with the evil empire in Refineryville.
Thanks again, LT Alumni Association...great time last night.

If Bicknell doesn't make it as a coach he may have a future in stand-up. He was hilarious. The problem is that I am not sure if he meant to be that funny.

Did they say anything about getting your LSU tickets before having to send them back.

Varsity Bulldog
The phrases "LSU tickets" and "halftime adjustments" were not uttered.

Hum, well in that case I guess he did not take credit for last year dismal season either but did talked about how he held on the Hail Marry.
