    Thanks Rice, SMU and Tulsa

The question now is, can we save the WAC? If so, we need to go to 12. Also, we still have the problem with NO REGIONAL BOWL. This begs the question "is it worth it?" We will never be able to demonstrate our ability to travel to a regional bowl with this setup.

Should we consider a swap move to get back into the SBC? Heck, if we did that at least the stability might allow us to make inroads like the MAC has. STABILITY is something we need in order to build a fan base and we sure could use opposing fans that can DRIVE to Ruston.

Bad conference or not, at least our 1-A future is stable this way. A decision has to be made. Soon.

Actually, if we rob UNT, ULL, and Arkansas State, the other Sunbelt teams are pretty much screwed, and we should get the Houston Bowl...where we could kick some C-USA butt.

To do that we need to rob UNT, ULL, ASU, NMSU and Utah State ... then if Hawaii leaves (as some predict) then we should add Idaho. That stablizes everything but screws ULM, MTSU and Troy State. I guess one could argue that they moved up last so it is deserving that they get the shaft ... then again ... is it right?

Do we really want to do unto others as has been done to us?

If the WAC were to add UNT, ULL, ASU, NMSU and Utah State and go to a two-division format, it would not be long before the WEST WAC schools would be trying to find a way to get away from the EAST WAC teams.

Then we are back to the Sun Belt II scenario.

We will know in a couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed...

    weunice,

This is a high stakes "Winner Take-All" game. No school can afford to take a "Golden Rule" approach. While it would be nice, it's just not going to happen. We better look out for Tech, cuz no one else will, certainly not Rice, SMU or Tulsa. (What happened to the speculation that DR was in tight with the SMU Prez???)

Take the money you make from winning a women's national championship plus a quarter and you still couldn't buy a cup of coffee.

Sadly you are right and it has really made me doubt my desire to support college athletics. Of course we know how long that will last ...

Of course ... at least we aren't 1-AA.

When is the next game ... GO DAWGS!!!!

I truly hope that we can use this as motivation on the field and beat the holy living crap out of TU, Rice, and SMU and show the idiots at CUSA what they are missing by not giving us a chance to prosper in their little group...

Piss Pounding the Opponent is the Key to SUCCESS!!!!

Let's start with HI on our WAC demolition tour... Show CUSA what they will be missing!!!

I agree Memdawg, we need to do some serious ass kicking. Let's score about 65 on each one of them.

    DonW,

You and I have disagreed on some things, but this is definitely a time that we need to circle the wagons and take an "Us against the World" attitude and it starts tomorrow!!

If you guys had the opportunity to stare at the FRONT page of the Commercial Appeal ALL DAY, yesterday, you would want to PUKE too!!

It had a colored MAP of the NEW CUSA and the member schools... We are right in the middle of the dang thing with Marshall and UCF out in the area of PLUTO!!! I have been pissed and depressed ever since then... That is the reality that has set in for me... I still long for a miracle, but wouldn't bet any $$ on it!!

Tomorrow, our boys have a chance to go out and put the hurt on somebody else and show the world what we are about!!! At this point, I don't care if it's Luke, Maxie, Anybody... Let's just HURT SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

If the WAC ends up as an old Big West/Sunbelt mess, Tech needs to go independent. When Tech joined the WAC I thought it was a great idea, because we can play better schools in football and have a better chance to go to a bowl. But if the WAC starts raiding the Sunbelt, thats gonna make our conf. less attractive. I say lets go independent for a while until there is another conf. opportunity for Tech to join.

I know going independent means a low chance of a bowl bid, but staying in the WAC gives us that same low chance (the bowls are currently catered to Boise, Fresno, and Hawaii)

Jessco White is a poor West Virginian who lives in Boone County, WV.

He came to light several years ago when these two filmmakers were going to do a documentary on a West Virginian who still carried on the tradition of appalachian mountain dancing. It is some goofy form of tap dancing.

The original person that the film was to be based on, tried killing the guys, so they looked for another dancer to base the film on. This led them to Jessie White's father (also known as Jessco, sometimes Elvis. He has multiple personalities.) The fim makers found out through Jessco that his father had been gunned down a couple of years earlier. They also found out that Jessco was a mighty good mountain dancer. So they made the documentary on Jessco.

The film ended up being more about Jessco and his exploits of huffing gasoline to get high, his crazy multiple personality of singing Elvis songs in his Elvis room, his tattoos, his jail time, and his hill billy family including his sister, Maime than the form of dancing that the film makers had originally planned the film to be about.

It turned into a film where most people ask "is this for real?" And the answer is yes.

Roseanne and Tom Arnold saw the documentary on TV some years ago. They thought that Jessco would be great to have on the Roseanne show. He made some type of guest appearance on the Roseanne show. The guys who made the first show, then did another show titled "Jessco goes to Hollywood" along with the original "dancing outlaw". Both of these videos can be bought online. The tapes were one of those cult favorite type things that not many knew about, but those that have, never forget about.

    Long live Jessco!

    I agree with that.

Louisiana Tech needs to hang 70 points EACH on SMU, Rice and Tulsa. That's the ONLY way we can send a messge to CUSA that says, "hey, you idiots picked the losers." Then we need to do it again next year.
