Alright, I talked to BEEF on the phone, and he said he got banned for something about the coache's wives or something. Now, I give you that it probably wasn't a good idea, but I have rarely, if ever, come across a more passionate and dedicated Tech fan than BEEF. We went to Arkansas, Alabama, Nebraska, Penn State, Rice together, and he never cowered from anyone. He yelled at UCF coaches so much they yelled back at him (Tech was losing 67-something to Culpeper, so he had to shut up). He confronted then-Def. corr. Masela about the state of our defense at a coaches luncheon. He knows he went too far, and he did predict Bicknell's suckiness years ago when everyone loved Bicknell. The board needs an antagonizer like BEEF around....

    uuummmmmmmmmm............

    Nope.

Chris obviously has some sort of emotional disorder which doesn't allow him to separate his anger/frustration/inadequacies/lack of upbringing/hypocracy from his arguments against the current coaching staff.

Oh by the way, tell him not to think of himself as some sort of "martyr" for telling the truth. If he had just said that he didn't like Bicknell, he wouldn't have been any different from 90% of the people on here. But he got drunk one night and crossed the line. The fact that he is just now realizing it shows that he still has alot of growing up to do. Frankly, he's a liability and he is going to get himself seriously hurt one day if he doesn't learn a little more self control. But that's for him to work out for himself. And not on our bandwidth.

This board needs a "beef" about like it needs a "monreauxtiger". And even MT managed to not get himself run off.

    Imagine that.

I guess with his departure the old Wendy's saying comes to mind - "where's the beef?"

Hey, I know BEEF personally, and he doesn't drink, so he wasn't drunk. How can you go accusing someone of that and yet be an admistrator yourself....maybe you need to pay a little time.

    See, we all make mistakes...

If he wasn't drunk, that's even worse.

Not sure what the rest of the post meant?

Oh well, doesn't matter. He's gone. Just mind that none of his bad habits rub off on you. It is obvious that he wields a very large influence over you.

Beef had his second chance last year - I even talked with him person to person at a coaches luncheon and explained to him what he could do and what he couldn't do on the board and what the "limits" were - I thought that we came away with a good understanding of what is allowed and not allowed -

I went to bat for him then with the other admins and he wasn't banned and his account remained active -

Even Saturday morning I did not want to ban Beef - only to have him warned and remove the posts -

Through some mutual friends I also know that Beef was an active member of BCM and is basically a good guy - no one is questioning his FANDOM or his love of TECH...

If he wants to express it the way he has chosen he is free to do it - just not on this board -

But when Beef, you or anyone else join the board - they agree to and ACCRPT the challenge (because right now it is a challenge) to abide by the rules of the board - which are fairly lenient -

Basically we don't allow profanity, racism, pornography or personal attacks on family members of those associated with TECH...

Like AD said - even MT has somehow managed not be banned - and that says alot...

I wish that were true. Then my children would be allowed to read the board. I really enjoy the info I get on here and the admins do an excellent job, but it is not something I will let my children read.

No, he doens't 'wield great influence over', just a good friend. And you never apologized for calling him drunk. When you post something I don't agree with, I don't rip your character..."pay a little time", as in you should be banned for a while to learn a little decency yourself.

Tell you what, let Beef back on, and if he gets close to crossing the line again, you can ban us both.

I agree - this is one area we REALLY need to work on...

We have even thought about using a word filter...

IT would help if some of our more active posters would police themselves alittle more...

Bite me once---shame on him. Bite me twice---shame on ME. Beef got his second chance---He should have learned his lesson the first time. As a Tech grad and member of this board, I was mortified at that post that he got banned for. He needs to grow up!!!

This or any other similar message board is not for children under about age 16.

Even as inappropriate as beef's poll post was Saturday morning, I might have been willing to see him get yet another chance. But his insults Sunday to the potential Tech student asking about Ruston High were the last straw for me. No one who truly represents Tech's best interests would consistently post in that way. I don't doubt beef's passion for Tech, but such passion can be very destructive when it is not channeled properly.

I just want to say this when I was going to Tech in undergrad and grad school my wife and I became good friends with a current Tech coach and his wife and a couple of coaches who are gone. Beef crossed a line that I would have banned him on the first time, not to mention people have said he had been warned and had a second chance.

There are somethings that are just out of bounds because this is a business to a large degree (college athletics) He was out of line and now he has to live with his decision.

    Thats life...

yeah, maybe I'll go start my own board....all I need is a school with:

    1. an uninspiring president
    2. some intra-school colleges that annually face decertification
    3. no traditions....other than a spellout...
    4. a .500 at best football team in a weak conference
    5. a .300 at best basketball team in a weak conference
    6. a .300 at best baseball team in a weak conference
    7. a historically great but in decline women's BB team that is THE landmark
    8. BABY-blue band uniforms for an oft-standing-marching band
    9. a stadium with no replay screen and PLENTY of capacity
    10. chick-freaking-fil-A
    11. ranked in USA New's "Top 150 schools in the western area of the southeast region"
    12. one booster with ability to have school employ his children's friends forever
    13. THE worst football defense in the nation (statistically speaking), they may actually be worse than that.
    14. TWO (!!!) victories over Alabama in the previous millenium.
    15. That Plays HOME GAMES ON THE ROAD!!!!

Dang, after thinking of my possibilities, you guys a corner on the market.
