is so screwed up this year!
He was quoted in yesterday's Times as voting for ul-br as the no. 1 team over USC.
Talking about out of touch with reality He's forgotten that Rice and Tulsa beat Tech just as bad.

Probably one of the only smart things he's done this year. Compare schedules and debate that USC has faced a tougher schedule and is a better team. Besides that, he is supposed to vote on the team that thrashed his a$$ vs. a team he doesn't know how to spell. You are letting your heart (hatred for LSU) get in the way of reason.
Coaches are always gonna vote for the team that beat them over the others that they did not play.
That would be the understatement of the century. Anyone who's so eaten up with hatred and anger that he's actually named himself "Tiggerhater" cannot be expected to engage in even semi-rational discussion. You are letting your heart (hatred for LSU) get in the way of reason.
Of course, when hate dominates one's life, it's usually an indicator of self-loathing. What a sad, pathetic soul TH must be---we should keep him in our prayers during this holiday season.
What is sad and pathetic is that Tiger fans can't quit posting on our board.Originally Posted by Shrevetown

In that situation, I would love it, but I wouldn't approve of it. If ANY team is No. 2 and No.1 loses, it deserves the No. 1 ranking - period.

Man, how low can one get?

Do you know for a fact that he had been voting LSU behind USC? Might want to research that one. As dumb as Bicknell appears to be, he probably had LSU ahead of USC all along. When #1 Oklahoma lost and he voted LSU #1 (just as several others in the country did) he was just being consistant. Besides that..........wouldn't you say that the LSU win over a #5 Georgia AT Georgia was much more convincing than USC's win over Oregon St.?
There is NO WAY Oklahoma should be playing for the national championship when they didn't even win their own conference. There is NO WAY USC should be playing for the national championship when their conference doesn't have a championship game and they have a conference loss
Therefore, LSU should be playing Boise St. in the Sugar Bowl as they are the best 1 loss teams that either won a conference championship game or went through their conference slate undefeated.
I agree
The BCS is a pathetic "system" for choosing anything. In its' short existance:
1. The "formula" has been changed 4 times.
2. It has had 2 "championship" games in which one of the participants DIDN'T EVEN WIN ITS CONFERENCE.
3. The current "formula" is so screwed up in the way it handles the somewhat subjective Strength of Schedule factor that LSU was in the position of having to beat Georgia but not beat them too badly in order to move up in the BCS rankings. This is absurd!!!! If the SOS must be used it should be applied at the time sthe two teams concerned played, period, not at the end of the season.
Seeing the Div III, Div II, and Div 1-AA championships being decided on the field in a true playoff has been proving for some 30 or so years now that the argument that the BCS "presidents" having been using that football can't have real playoffs is a bunch of crap!!
The Marlins didn't win their division.
Bill Pup60, I couldn't have said it better myself.
Pick a select number of conferences to get the automatic bids (give it to everyone save the weakest two conferences--who would have to playoff for the right to enter the tournament). And then set up a committee to decide who gets the "at-large" playoff births--a la the NCAA Basketball Tournament Selection Committee.
The only folks we are protecting here are the Mayors, Chambers of Commerce, and the bowl committeemen who view these games as a boon to their respective economies. The rest of us want to see a true champion crowned. Let the coaches and the kids decide it, not some geek who never played a down sitting behind a computer punching up some useless equation.
The Marlins won the playoffs to capture their championship. I've got no problem with that.
And they FIRED their coach!
Hey Soonerdawg, speaking of win  do you think you could blow up that moniker of yours and paste it in a post ? The finer details need to be approved by our new BB&B ADM'ers I am sure. :wink:Originally Posted by Soonerdawg
