SFA has historically had a decent net (175 last year). ULM (309), NSU (332). Net really only matters for seeding and at-large. We aren't getting an at-large, so it only hurts if we win the conference tournament.
Here are some other schools to consider:
UTA 129 (We are playing them this year as scheduling alliance, but should play annually to be in DFW)
UNT 79 (Great rival when in CUSA, same reason as UTA - rotate years playing in DFW)
UAB 104 (Fun rivalry)
others under 200 last year: Troy, Tulane, Tarleton St, TAMU-CC, Little Rock, Tulsa
200-250: TX St, Lamar, USM, Nicolls, Rice
Hester is saying he reached out to both ULM and NWSt and he saying both are uninterested - I just don't buy that
They always want to play us in any sport, any time and any place - let alone a home and home
Now if scheduling dates didn't work out that's one thing - but he didn't say that
I've have reached out to my contacts to both programs -
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Crummy has killed the football program, now we're begging ULM and NSU for basketball scheduling? Jim Henderson doesn't care enough about Tech athletics to force any changes, so, I have lived long enough to see the complete collapse of Tech sports.
This board, once vibrant has died, and general support and enthusiasm for all things Tech sports has disappeared.
No "Tournament" at Gulf Coast Showcase. At least we didn't get Florida Tech.
