Loree Moore went down with a torn ACL in the game against Duke. She will be out the rest of the season. Hate to see this happen to any team or player.

While I am talking about other teams, UConn faces #21 Virginia Tech (another over ranked one, I am sure) tonight. This will be at VT, so another upset could be brewing. UConn almost lost again on Saturday beating Seton Hall by just 8 points after being tied up with 3 minutes left. Diana Taurasi continues to struggle.

UCONN lose another one? Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

Just read that Pat Summitt's annual salary is $824,500 !! I knew she was paid well, but didn't know it was that much.

That doesn't sound right. Not for a women's college basketball coach. Maybe her salary is much lower, but WITH INCENTIVES, a radio deal, TV, etc.....maybe it comes to that much. But that STILL sounds wrong, cause there's just not that much money in women's college basketball. On the other hand, Tennessee sells out every home game, and maybe they figure SHE'S the reason why.

$824,500 is the new annual salary figure quoted in this espn.com story http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/news/story?id=1719085 That is up from Summitt's current $750,000 a year which is still less than Tennessee men's coach Buzz Peterson's current $769,500 annual figure.

As for sellouts, Tennessee would fill many buildings but doesn't come close on average in Thompson-Boling. Tennessee averaged 12,585 (under 52% of capacity) at home last season and finished behind Connecticut in home attendance. The Lady Vols are averaging 12,786 this year.

The salary is correct. I remember when they raised it. I am not sure if it includes the incentives and promotions, though. Also, Pat did some consulting with the WNBA - Washington Mystics. I don't think she is doing that anymore, but was probably paid nicely for that too.
