Who Will Be the Next Host?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ever dreamed of pulling in a big fish while the cameras are rolling? Well, people across the country did and many of them auditioned for us last summer as The Outdoor Channel’s Motor Moose RV team toured the country, looking for the next host of a special fishing show—one where a lucky viewer is the star.
Voting for the finalists started last November and continues until today. Today is your last chance to help pick our winner.
The winner will be announced on February 13 during a special airing of Fishing with Rod Phillips. Rod was last year’s winner from El Paso, Texas. Rod traveled to Lake Huites, one of Mexico’s premier bass-fishing lakes, to film his show.
This year’s finalists are Craig Condello, Laurie Ferguson, Andy Halbrook, Jim Lytle and Gary Wert. All five finalists are life-long anglers and describe their love of fishing as either a passion, addiction or affliction. Some have traveled far and wide. And, some are loyal to the paradise they find in their own back yards.
They represent the Northeast, the South and the Midwest. They have all been actively campaigning in their hometowns to garner votes, and they have appeared on the radio, on local television news and in the local papers.
So take a look at our five finalists’ videos, pick your favorite, and watch for them to host their own show some time later this year. Visit www.outdoorchannel.com and cast your vote today!

I voted.
Is Andy kin to Terry?

Does he speak well? Can he catch fish and teach his methods well? Does he understand the importance of water quality and the role that a television personality can play in helping to see that EVERYONE learns to appreciate the value of protecting the watersheds as well as the reservoirs?
Outdoor writers and broadcasters have a lot more responsibility than just being able to catch a fish or shoot a bird and make jokes. The reason to teach others to enjoy the outdoors is to enlist them in the effort to PROTECT and ENHANCE the natural areas.

Hey, Aub. If I tell you that he is a conservative, does he have to be any of that other stuff? Man, you make this vote difficult. Maybe your paper should sponsor a debate between all the candidates so we can see which one we should vote for.
