Thanks for the link. I wonder where all these girls went? Some like Ashley Robinson, Chandi Jones, Alana Beard, etc. are obvious, but many of them just disappeared. I am sure they went to programs that are not known or some overrated B12 team, but where are they now?

For example, only about 6 of the 2000 list do I recognize.

I count 15 names on the 2000 list I recognize and know where they are -- most are at Tenn (Robinson, Butts, Ely), Duke (Tillis, Beard), Purdue (Wright, Valek), UConn (Taurasi, Battle, Valley). Then you have players like Jones, Powell, Stephens and Hoffman who have done very well. I don't think it's a coincidence where most of those teams tend to finish.

We've done very well getting slightly less than top-tier players because Barmore was such a good developer of talent. One problem is that you have other coaches who can do that well now as well, and some of them are getting better talent. It's a lot tougher to play catchup.

We are still doing well. This year proved that. Even though it was a S16 finish, a little better shooting on just that one day would have earned possibly a final four.

Budke did his magic at TVCC and will do the same for us. He definitely knows what he is doing. It is harder than people imagine to do what he did on the JC level. Players only stay two years and it is tough to get the top ones to come consistently to one JC.

It would be nice if Tech could get a few more All-Americans. However, Budke has good ties to Junior College. A good mix of JC and HS players makes for a good team. Sometimes you can find a real jewel in the junior college ranks. Remember, Sheryl Swoopes was a Junior College transfer.

Budke and Co. will bring in a type flight recruiting class and Tech will be a very good team next year.
