Just who was willing to evict Tech???
Probably everyone except USU and NMSU...
The more that comes out of these meetings the last two days the more it stinks -
It's not like we are CHERISHED and ADORED by our remaining conference mates -
Atleast in the SBC they "love to hate us"...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I'd guess Hawaii, Fresno, and Boise, for starters ??
just a guess, though.
Let me first say I am personally undecided as to the whole Sunbelt question. However, several people have said that Sunbelt schools absolutely will not be considered by CUSA for future expansion, like it is carved in stone somewhere. Just think about it, if CUSA ever expands again, where else do you people think the new teams will come from? They will almost HAVE to come from the Sunbelt, because there aren't any other schools that would want to join from around CUSA's geographical area. They won't be taking any WAC teams (except Tech if we stay in the WAC). They won't be pulling up 1-AA schools like the Sunbelt is trying to do. There AREN'T any southern 1-A independent schools. They MIGHT try the MAC again, but those schools weren't interested this time around, so it is doubtful they would be in the future. There are pros and cons to joining the Belt, but saying that it will automatically exclude Tech from future CUSA consideration is just plain silly.Originally Posted by champion110
Nathan - Excellent point. CUSA is not going to invite Tech in the next round unless we renovate our stadium, start putting 25-30,000 in the stands on a regular basis, and start getting major media attention from Longview to Monroe. The SBC will be the only logical (poor choice of words) place for them to look next time. If we stay where we are and continue to spend money on travel in the WAC, we will make no major capital improvements, and end up being just a token candidate again.
