Pitcher from Moo State headed to Ruston
This is looking more and more like how Tech managed Holtz and we all know how that played out over time. Obviously the one big difference is that Burroughs is actually accomplishing some things of significance at Tech where Holtz just settled for pretending to try. Hopefully and I do believe it to be true at this point is that generally speaking Burroughs manages his players’ efforts better than Holtz ever did
Is it true that Gaspard is retiring?
LB's true worth, his true value, will be revealed next year. He has to completely rebuild the team, virtually from scratch. We'll see how the Diamond Dawgs do. I am willing to give LB this chance to prove he should remain Tech's coach.
Now, what will be the measure to judge him by? A winning record? Winning 30 games? Guess the expectations will depend on the make-up of the roster, how much experience there is to work with.
After the last loss Burroughs said that the team had run out of gas. That was true in the sense that they’d been burnt out having to win every game down the stretch to try to make a regional like he pretty much promised after last years losing season. This end of the season meltdown seems to be routine with LB’s teams and the reason why is because essentially all season long he plays 8 fielders, so by the end they’re half hurt and all worn out. More player development and not playing the same catcher almost every game has to happen to extend the life of his teams.
Caden Copeland is now in the portal.
Coming off two regionals in the last three years leaves no excuse for not having a winning record and winning 30 games. Having a chance to get hot in May is huge. A repeat of 2023 in unacceptable. He MUST find some pitching. Find more Ballard type players and please, no more guys who could not make it in the SEC.
