Cox Sports & Time Warner Cable

Cox Sports TV will televise 6 of the 12 Bulldog football games this fall-Cox Sports TV is currently in over 1.5 MILLION Louisiana households.

BUT, if you have Time Warner Cable you do not have a chance to get Cox Sports TV because Time Warner Cable does not offer it. That means that those in Shreveport, Monroe, & West Monroe, as well as elsewhere in our state, will NOT be able to watch those Bulldog games on Cox Sports TV.

WHAT TO DO?? Using the good old BB&B TACT & PROFESSIONALISM, please call the Time Warner Cable System in your area POLITELY REQUESTING that they ADD Cox Sports TV. It's the good ol' "supply & demand" thing that we red-blooded BB&Bers love so much! Encourage your friends & family to do the same. At this moment, Cox is doing its best to come to terms with Time Warner in the above mentioned markets.

    Mick,

I don't live in any of those cities anymore, but I will call and say I do. Like Forrest Gump said, "Momma said it's just a little white lie, so it won't hurt nobody."

Speaking of Momma, I will call my parents and ask them to call as well.

I left S'port for the wilds of Minden over 7 years ago and this is just another reminder of why.

Re: Cox Sports & Time Warner Cable

SHREVDOG-in an ideal world, we would draw massive support from the Caddo-Bossier area insofar as attendance at our home games and, for that matter, attendance at the games we play at Indy Stadium. With over 350,000 people living within a 75-mile radius of Shreveport, you would think that we could somehow lure 10% of these good people to a Tech football game, in Ruston or Shreveport. Unfortunately, we have not been able to do that often. About 20% of our Tech students are from the Shreveport/Bossier area and we have 24,000 LIVING ALUMNI who live within a 75-mile radius of Shreveport. Just think, if we could just attract 50% of our living alumni plus their kids we'd be in pretty good shape from an attendance standpoint. Unfortunately, we have not been able to do that often.

So, SDOG, perhaps some of our OWN FOLKS may see us on TV, LIKE what they see, & JOIN US @ JAS or INDY for some real FUN, supporting our beloved Bulldogs! But, until Time Warner carries Cox Sports, ain't gonna happen!!

Actually - accoding to the LSUS Center for Business Research, the 2002 US Census shows the following:

Within 100 miles of Shreveport: 1.8 millon

Within 200 miles of Shreveport: 10.7 millon

There are approximately 325,000 to 360,000 in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.

Tim is always complaining his show about the inability to get the games aired in Monroe that the local colleges are playing that are available to COX Cable. There really needs to be something worked out.

Most of the TV games should be on ESPN Gameplan.

Did you see WAC or MAC games on Game Plan last year? I don't recall them broadcasting either. Hopefully that will change this year.

Re: Cox Sports & Time Warner Cable

Tech and the WAC had several games on Gameplan last year: Michigan State, LSU, Hawaii, Fresno State, and Boise State: WAC games w/ tv info from last year http://www.wac.org/schedule.asp?spor...osteryear=2003

If you look at this year's schedule, the games with # (at least 7 games) should be on Gameplan. http://www.latechbbb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20437

All SportsWest and ESPN Regional Telecasts are on gameplan. Last year, Auburn and Tennesse PPV games were on Gameplan. Last year's TV broadcasts http://www.nationalchamps.net/2003/s...ings/week1.htm
