The Western Athletic Conference is 13-13 in nonconference games, the top mark among non-BCS conferences. The WAC also is the only non-BCS conference with two teams currently ranked in the Top 25, one of which travels to Louisiana Tech this Saturday.
Other non-BCS conferences and their nonconference records:

3. Mountain West (12-14)
4. Mid-American (8-30)
5. Sun Belt (5-20)
Hey Cliff, missed you Sturday at Ben's Half Yard. You would have enjoyed getting mad at the big screen with Mr Capps for not passing the pigskin to big #84.
The more I think about this coming Saturday, this game can be a landmark moment for the team, the school and its fans; not only for this year, but for the future as well. A big win under the lights of Ruston in front of a big crowd could be the beginning of something special. Capturing this kind of opportunity and capitalizing on it are what propells football programs onward and upwards.
Hell, 30 years ago Baylor beat Texas for the first time in a generation and put them on the football map and over a decade of outstanding football.

It would be interesting to see the records for the '05 versions of these conferences. The New WAC should have a better record and the New CUSA worse.

How do they rate after re-alignment?
David, I couldn't make it to Ben's because my wife had yet another of her 29th birthdays. I got to tape it off of ESPN GamePlan and watch it about 3 times this week though.
Joe, hope Wisconsin is agreeing with you buddy. I believe LT is correct that the WAC would be stronger with re-alignment records losing SMU, UTEP, Tulsa and Rice, but gaining NM St, Idaho, and U. St. I think the 3 newbies account for most of the Sun Belch's paltry win total.
Not counting todays games, here are the new team's records:
USU 2-2
NMSU 1-3
Idaho 0-4
I do not think that these schools are going to add anything football-wise to the conference for several years at the earliest...

We are anchoring the Northern La Tech fan club up here in the Chicago State Park (otherwise known as Wisconsin). I had flag foot practice for my 3rd grader on Saturday. It was a balmy 36 degrees with a gentle 20 mph wind. Should be real fun when it gets cold.
Anyone notice CUSA-member-to-be UCF got thrashed by Buffalo???

Actually, it isn't. TCU lost to South Fla. UCF is now 0-4, with losses from WV, Wisco, Penn St., and Buffalo.
