Is he playing this year or what? Anyone know?
Listening to the half-time talk Saturday nite, where he PROCLAIMED himself to be a "wildlife control specialist" when Dave offered up the question of what he would be doing come Monday morning -
So my guess is that he is roaming the woods of North LA or South Ark and basketball is the furthest thing from his mind right now...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Karl had already come out and stated last week that he was not playing next year.
Does that mean retirement? For alot of people, Yes. For a fit specimen like Karl Malone, No.
Guess we'll wait and see. Personally, I would LOVE to see him play for the Dallas Mavericks.

Wildlife control specialist! That's great!
Wish he would do a stint in Dallas. Better chance to see him play before he finally hangs it up, which can't be far off. Maybe he already has.
I, too, would love to see him play in his 40s. He worked too hard to get so big and efficient on the court to not be out there to be watched helping some team succeed.
But, having spent many years as a "wildlife control specialist," I understand the attraction of that self-sacrificing role in life!
I was lucky enough to see many of Karl's last games in Utah. He is my favorite NBA player of all time by a wide margin.
I think he has had enough, though. He gave it his best to get a ring and it didn't work out. He has been quite unlucky, especially with the injury to his knee last year. I really think the Lakers would have beaten the Piston's with a healthy Karl. He was also unlucky to run up against Jordan twice and Magic's Lakers several times. In those cases though, the best team won.
Karl Malone is the greatest Power Forward to ever lace them up. He doesn't need a NBA title to validate his career.
He and the Jazz got robbed of the championship the 2nd time they faced the Bulls. The refs took over the last part of game 6. I believe that the NBA had those refs ref the game like that.Originally Posted by altadawg
I kind of hate to see him stop playing just 1400 points from being the all-time scoring leader in NBA history, and I still think if he hooked on with the Spurs he could win his ring this year.
