    Someone Tell Me I'm Wrong

I hate to admit this, but for the first time in this election season, I've got a real bad feeling that Kerry may win this thing. Bush hasn't gotten the message out as he should have. He's let Kerry frame the debate much like his dad let Clinton in 1992 (remeber the quote from Clinton "the worst economy in the last 50 years"). All the elder Bush had to do was ask Clinton if he could remember the Jimmy Carter (democrat) years with double digit inflation and interest rates and almost double digit unemployment. That would have ended that line from Clinton. This president Bush has done the same thing. He missed time after time in the debates to tag Kerry and this election seems to be slipping away from him. Please some of you Bush supporters, tell me I'm looking at this wrong.

The first debate was a disappointment for President Bush, but if you look at the polls they're turning the other way again. I paid for the Rasmussen updates and they definitely show that things are turning President Bush's way - not dramatically, but I'd definitely rather be in his spot than Senator Kerry's! And, Zogby's taken a definite swing towards Bush as well. We'll know soon. All I know is that I'm not leaving anything on the table - I'm going to do all I can to see that President Bush is re-elected!

I am just the opposite. I am gaining confidence as time draws near. I don't think it will be a large margin of victory, however. Heck, it may be another popular vote vs. electoral college. Either way, Bush has been more agressive and Kerry can't shake his "flip flop" past and people's opinion that Kerry is weaker on fighting terror.

Kerry can't carry the any of the south. He has to have some of it. That's why this race baiting has gotten so bad lately. The Dems are desperate to get their people out.

Re: Someone Tell Me I'm Wrong

Next to Texas, Florida is the biggest prize in the "South," and Florida is not, and has not been for a LONG time, very Southern. Too many transplanted yankees in Florida...some from, egad! the northeast....yuck!

I work with traditional supporters of the Dems, and listening to them talk, leaves me bewildered. In their personal lives they disdain everything the national Dem party stands for, yet, they go like cattle to the slaughterhouse to vote for another Dem.

Of course, the national Repubs have not done a lot to woo moderate voters either. Actually, I despise BOTH major parties. To me, they are like the SEC and Big 10, selfishly keeping everything for themselves, while getting fans of schools in other conferences to "choose" one of them.

In politics today, where every congressman and senator is a multi-millionaire, Hello! coming in second nationally is not bad. The Dems have been "out of power" for awhile, but you don't see any of them suffering. Nope, John Breaux and Mary Landrieu are still raking in $millions annually. Must be nice, eh.

For me, it's easy. I just look at the official platform of the two parties. The Dems have put, in writing, that they support abortion. While the Repubs, have, in writing, that abortion is wrong, and at least, the government should not support that evil practice. I believe that God is taking notes on all of this.

After that, there's not a dime's worth of difference between the parties.

What scares me the most is that there are that many people that will vote for John Kerry. Does this mean that we are headed toward socialism like many of the European countries? How do you convince people to vote for you when they know you are going to increase their taxes? Of course Kerry doesn't care since he married $500,000,000. I had to laugh the other night when he said he had Blue Cross-Blue Shield. Do you actually need insurance when you can buy your own hospital????

    Arkdawg...

I have some of that same uneasiness. And for just the reason you stated. When Daddy Bush took such a laid back approach against Clinton, I knew he would lose. The Democratic approach is to lie, lie, lie, and do it loud and do it often. If you get caught. lie some more about something else, even louder. The only answer is to call them out and do it even louder than they do. Bush 2 is doing somewhat better than his Dad at this, but not nearly well enough. It gives me this feeling that the Bush camp is a little too smug!

Re: Someone Tell Me I'm Wrong

I'm just gonna rant since it's 3:30 and I'm hopped up on coffee from driving back from Dallas.

It's horrible, but I'm starting to not care. Maybe since I've already voted...? I have heard the following wuotes in the past two days:

    "9/11 never really happened."
"9/11 was ordered by Bush for a 'resume builder'"
"If Bush is elected the world will end."
"I can't sleep at night because Pres. Bush has a chance to win.:
"There was nothing wrong with Saddam but a grudge against the Bush family"
"If it were up to Bush, we'd all be drafted to fight for his oil company"
"The rock industry wants people to know they are being sheep, so they should vote Kerry."

I don't know. I just don't care anymore. What can I say to people like this? I'm just friggin tired of it. You know what... Maybe that kind of America deserves a John Kerry.

Markay, ST5 and Maddawg I hope you guys are right. I just look at Arkansas which has been solid for Bush all along and all of a sudden, it's Bush by only 2 points in the latest poll. It's gone back to leaning Bush. I don't think Arkansas will go Kerry, though, when it comes time to vote. Looking at the electoral map this morning, if all the states solid Bush and all those leaning Bush hold up, it looks like he has to take Florida and Ohio out of the battleground states to win the election.

Re: Someone Tell Me I'm Wrong

How about that new CNN-USATODAY poll that shows Bush up by 8 percentage points!

Personally, I think they monkeyed around with those numbers to make people think Bush is that far ahead, then about a week or so before the election, they will come out with some new irrelevant revelation and show a new poll with Kerry closing the gap. It is a momentum play (bandwagon, for you advertising types), they are in the Democrat's camp, and it would not be the first time they have pulled this ploy this campaign.

Yep, the media has become a partisan fourth branch of the US government.

It's a good feeling to know that you Republicans are scared...........you should be. Republicans have control of all 3 branches of government and the result? A wrecked economy that this President has had 4 years to fix, a war in which soldiers are dying needlessly every day, and the most divisiveness the country has ever known from a guy who was supposed to be a "Uniter not a divider"? Add to the fact that the guy isnt very smart and he lets the advisors run the country.

Economy- a tax cut in which the richest 1% gets more than 80% of the middle class and poor is absolutely ridiculous no matter how you look at it.

War- clearly there was no exit strategy, so a handful of soldiers will be dying in Iraq for many years to come because of this President. No one makes a big deal about how this president uses the death of 3000 people in New York as tool to actually win an election this time. NO Osama, no Zarquawi, no weapons of mass destruction. Afghanistan churning out even more opium than ever. Gas prices high as ever. Israel Palestine-----> zero progress. Two major allies hate our guts now (France and Germany with more ont he way)

Bush the idiot- guy has no clue why people are gay.............lol. Apparently there are two "internets". Showed how much of a buffoon he was when he couldn't even say "Pay as you go" he pronounced it paygo........lol. The guy has made history though. He is only the second person to ever become president without being elected. Both he and George Washington were appointed.
Under every Bush there is dirt. :icon_wink

Yep, we ended their ability to use the oil-for-food program, and the UN, to prop themselves up.

I would never call France "major".

Let's just see, should Kerry get elected, how well he can hold together the coalition of the "bribed and coerced", especially since he has given them NO credit for their help to the United States.

Kerry is a VERY STUPID MAN, and he cannot see past being elected...so he is willing to SAY anything.

I think everyone's concern is for the United States of America, not George Bush or the Republican party.
