You couldn't have scripted a more typical Tech last act than what has happened over the last 12 months.

1.) Just as we think we have found a stable conference the WAC falls apart.
2.) After waiting 50 years to get a crack at LSU we catch them at an all time high.
3.) Bicknell gets last minute reprieve despite threatening riots.
4.) Rick Smith (the coach with the most 1-A experience) is fired and promptly moves on to win the World Bowl with the Berlin Thunder while the other mysterious co-defensive coordinator stays on the payroll.
5.) CUSA picks a team closer to Los Angeles than Houston as a new member over us.
6.) And finally, UTEP makes CUSA look smart while ironically showing us that a successful and experienced coach really is important!!!

This camel can only take one more straw. At the conclusion of this season Tech needs to go out and find a QUALIFIED coach to build this program back.

QUALIFIED coach: One who has been a head coach (or coordinator at a BCS school) that has demonstrated a consistent ability to lead teams to win.

UNQUALIFIED coach: Anyone on the current coaching staff, anyone residing in or around Ruston, anyone related to anyone residing in or around Ruston, or anyone who currently has any contact whatsoever to anything or anyone who has ever had anything to do with Ruston.

UTEP has done it, UCF has done it, USL has done it, EVEN FRIGGIN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA HAS DONE IT.

I think that summary needs to be imprinted on stone tablets and carried to the heights and thin air of DR's office. But maybe offer him some oxygen first so that he can understand what he is reading.
