Bad Bulldog coaching. Good UTEP coaching. Better San Jose coaching. Despite being down 14-7 with San Jose State driving, this is not the same UTEP team I saw in Ruston last week. San Jose is playing horrible and through the first quarter and a half, they are still in the game. UTEP is not that great of a team. Of course they beat the Dawgs, they were better than us last week, but out of 10 trys we would beat them 9!
The two UTEP TDs came too easy--180 yards of offense in the first two drives. Look for Price to do some serious chewing at halftime if this performance continues.
If they had played this sloppy in the first half last weekend, Tech would have been up by 28 at the half.
I think last weekend was a combination of things. UTEP cannot stop the run, last week the only way they did was by hurting Moats.
Our guys did not come to play, UTEPS did!
UTEP was looking past San Jose, thinking they were through the roughest part of their schedule. YOU CANT DO THAT IN THE WAC!
UTEP HAD THEIR PERFECT GAME LAST WEEKEND, unfortunately, it was against our DAWGS!

Whatever Price said in the locker room at halftime worked. UTEP up 38-13 on San Jose State midway through the 4th quarter.
UTEP's the real deal... not a BCS Buster, but a well coached, well executing team. It's tough to beat that. They'll do very well in CUSA in the next few years. After seeing them play other teams, and seeing their top 25 ranking in the coaches' poll, I'm not embarassed losing to them. We stunk it up, but they aren't horrible.
Thinking about Hawaii now.
UTEP sucks they have beaten nobody. That means that we suck even more than they do. UTEP is not even top 50 material.
LBP that's a ridiculous statement. Try to look at the bright side of SOMETHING. They will finish 10-2 with two losses to Top 25 teams. They'd beat any team in the MAC, Sunbelt, most of CUSA and most of the Mountain West. Are they Top 25 material? Probably not. But do they suck? No. Bad teams don't finish 10-2.
They've beaten nobody? That's right. Count yourself in that group. Are they legit top 25? I'd have to say yes. The reason?
COACHING MATTERS.
People have begun to recognize that good coaches improve a team. It's just sad to see how you guys can't seem to pull out of that downward spiral you're on...

Most people on this board have given UTEP all the respect and credit for beating us. We know that coaching matters.
They are a solid, well coached football team. Are there only 23 teams in the nation that can beat them? No.
Please go talk smack to Rice or Tulsa. You guys won't play another conference game against us for a long time.
