Has any alumni called JO and let him know whats up. It seems like that would be more effective than whining on the message boards.

The only reason would to get more chance of making the 10 p.m. TV news in more markets, getting on the tickers on ESPN sooner, etc. Additionally, the earlier scores are posted on the Associated Press wire, the more likely they are to show up in newspapers. Some papers build their scoreboard pages early and don't have a later edition update. I assume everyone is familiar with getting a Times or News Star only a few miles outside the city limits and finding only the early sport scores are listed, even when the papers have reporters and photographers covering local games for the final or city edition.
On the east coast, I doubt anyone cares. And our home games all are over in plenty of time for coverage in the Mountain and Pacific time zones even starting at 7:30 p.m.! But it would be nice if all our games at the western WAC teams' home courts could begin earlier!
Aub, when we had the 7oclock games we still made it on the 10pm news on those monroe and shreve channels. I doubt the time change was due to that...if it was, that was stupid.
Come on, you're from fayetteville, the Hogs play at 7:05 each weeknight, and they still make the local and state news by 10.
True, but the Hogs are on TV live such a high percentage of the time that it isn't even necessary!
And our newspaper holds as late as necessary for Hog scores but the rest of the world's scores might still be only those available before 9 p.m. Simply lack of concern about anyone else's games!
I emailed Oakes and he (or whoever) said they did it for media purposes. He said they did the same thing with baseball with favorable results.Originally Posted by steltz
Two thoughts. It wouldn't cost a dime if they would just do an email poll before they make a major change like this. And, as I posted on another thread and as has been pointed out, it is very difficult to get off work in Shreveport and make a 6:30 tipoff. That kind of lets us know where we fit in the big picture.
