Dallas Morning News writer predicts N Illinois to Indy Bowl

Dallas Morning News sports writer Keith Whitmore predicts a N. Illinois vs Oklahoma State matchup in this year's Indy Bowl in Shreveport. Whitmire, who follows the Big 12 for the DMN, says the SEC cannot fill the Indy Bowl slot and that the Big 12 also can't fill all of its' bowl slots.

On page 3CC of today's DMN, Whitmore also predicts a Syracuse vs Cincinnati matchup in the Ft Worth Bowl, and predicts that Iowa State will meet UTEP in the Houston Bowl.

No doubt about it, this would have been Louisina Tech's EASIEST year to make it to a bowl game. Most bowl games are starving for teams this year. All Bicknell had to do was beat UTEP at homecoming, and I'm sure La Tech could have easily picked from ANY of these three (3) bowl games. If nothing else, Bicknell should be fired this. He really blew it this year.

Talk about terrible games-I won't even stay tuned to see the score of those games much less watch. How about the INDY bowl, what a horrible match up. NO ONE will come to watch that game except a few thousand OSU fans and maybe a thousand from NIU. IT will be hard to sell those tickets around here.

I doubt very seriously the folks in Ft Worth are real excited about a game between Syracuse and Cincinnati either. Yuck!

Probably especially not a Cincinnati team that just had 70 hung on 'em by Louisville. If you let someone hang 70 on you, you just shouldn't play your next game as a bowl game and expect anyone to pay to see it!
