AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Adrien Borders scored 21 points and Howard Wilkerson added 19 to lead Wofford to an 85-78 upset of Auburn on Sunday.
The Terriers (4-2) shot 54 percent and overcame a 15-point deficit in the first half to claim their first win over a Southeastern Conference team in 21 meetings since moving up to Division I for the 1995-96 season.
They dominated the boards against the undersized Tigers (5-2).
Auburn, which employs essentially a five-guard lineup, made just 4-of-24 3-pointers and was outrebounded 38-29.
The Terriers closed the first half on a 27-8 run over the final eight minutes to take a 44-40 lead. They committed 12 turnovers in the first 10 minutes, but only one more before halftime.
Wilkerson had eight rebounds and five assists for Wofford, making 8-of-11 shots. Eric Marshall added 14 points and Sam Daniels and Drew Gibson had 11 apiece.
Ian Young led Auburn with 22 points while Quinnel Brown had 17 points and eight rebounds. Frank Tolbert had 16 points and four of the Tigers' 13 steals. Freshman Toney Douglas, coming off a 33-point performance in an 86-84 loss to No. 24 Virginia, was scoreless in the first half. He finished with three points and was 0-for-7 shooting after coming in averaging a league-high 22 points.
