    oh my goodness! usl graduates 6.2% within four years! wow.

    northeast is not much better at 9.1%

    I did a quick check, so I might have missed one, but, only Tulane and Centenary have higher grad rates than Tech. Which means, Tech leads among all the public colleges.

    Not too surprising really.

    There's a push now to get all the public school grad/retention rates up. Look for the other system schools to have sky rocketing rates over the next few years. I'm a little dubious of the initiative. More grade inflation = higher grad rates. I'm afraid we might produce incompetent graduates and cheapen our degrees.

    ULL has had "selective admissions" for a while, ULM just went to it. There are several interesting possible explantions for the difference.

    1. ULL did not enforce standards.
    2. ULM uses social promotions. (considering that student retention is a major factor in faculty reward/retention decisions at ULM, I think this may be the best explantion for the difference in the two ULX's.)
    3. A combination of the above.
    4. ??????????

    Well, I ran out of ideas quickly.
