Davis and Tuberville have pulled their names and the only two names in public are Les Miles from OSU and Petrino? from Louisville. I would hire Les Miles in a heartbeat over Petrino whose teams don't play Defense. The chairman or whoever Weems? Said they were looking for a coach with Head Coaching experience and that leaves Jimbo on the outside looking in. We'd never pull something that brilliant Cartek come on man. It was a good ideal though.
Miles has beaten OU twice in the past 4-5 years and done a very good job at OSU even though he couldn't beat Tech and JB, maybe that is a good sign for us in 07 if he gets the job!
What about Muschamp, the DC at LSU? He is trying for the DC job at Clemson. We should've fired Bicknell and hired either Muschamp or Fischer. If he is willing to take the DC job at Clemson, he would definitley be interested in a chance to be a HC.
fisher turned down mississippi st. a year or two ago. he would be a great hire. muschamp is young, but he would be greater than bicknell already and would only get better with age.
The lsu hater in me hopes they hire someone really sucky. That is all.

Rumor on drive time sports in LR today is that LSU is going to offer the job to Houston Nutt. The host on the show, Rick Shaeffer, who used to be the SID at Ark. claims that it is true and Rick is not the kind of guy that likes to spread rumors.
LSU has been given permission to talk to Nutt, but he is out of town and the meeting has not happened yet. I cannot see him leaving the UA at all, much less going to conference arch-rival LSU. Could happen, but I will be shocked if it comes off. Do not think that Petrino is going there either, not after having just signed his new contract. Plus, they are going to own the Big East for the next few years until the rest of the schools catch up.
I agree, Nutt is just trying to get another raise. I think both of them would be foolish, LSU for hiring him and Nutt for taking the job. He has a lifetime job at Ark. as long as he can win 50% of his games.
