I agree. Maxie Lambright takes a back seat to NO ONE. Other than Pat Patterson's one-game head coaching career in 1979 (a win over NLU), Lambright is the winningest football coach in Louisiana Tech history.

Over a 12-year career at Tech, Lambright had a 95-36 record (.722 winning per centage) and won seven (7) conference titles and three (3) national championships.

Over a 4-year period from 1971-74, Lambright's Tech teams were 44-4, with at least a share of 3 national titles. He built the nations longest college football winning streak at 23 games during 1973 and '74.

Maybe this will give WAC fans some perspective: Boise State's Dan Hawkins had a win streak ALMOST as long as Lambright's before losing to Louisville in the Liberty Bowl last week. Oh......and Lambright coached LA Tech to a 24-14 victory over Louisville in the Indy Bowl in 1977.

earlier in the thread, there is mention of jumbotron possibly coming along with the turf. What's the thinking on that now? Is it actually going to happen?

It costs the Saints $200,000. You have to replace the field every 5 yrs. The Saints are rotating the turf among 5 colleges, and they replace it every year. The Superdome is selling the fields because it saves them money over buying a floor cover to put on the field during the nonfootball season for the other events.

Again, thank you to the BIG N.O.; you would have nothing without it.
Thanks... If our silly governor figures out a way to lose the Saints to L.A., then I guess those other four schools will be screwed...

BUT, so who got the AstroPlay field from 2002? It was getting auctioned
