Ryan Moats Draft Blog Keep on Training February 3, 2005 | 10:57 AM CST About two or three weeks ago I was just concentrating on training. Then I had the opportunity to go the Shrine Bowl and I jumped at it. It's kind of hard to show your talent in three days, but I met alot of good people and I was happy with the things I could accomplish in the short time. I got to meet people like the Louisville quarterback Stefan Lefors. He's a great guy. I also got to meet Timmy Chang. That's my boy right there. We've been cool since I was a sophomore. I got to spend time with Chad Owens, he's another friend of mine. Robert Rodriguez from UTEP is my other boy. I just got to meet alot of friends that I never really got to talk to. When we were playing against each other we didn't get a chance to sit down and talk. We had small talk during games, but we never really got to have conversations. I had an ok game but I only had eight carries. I was the starting back but in the very beginning it was real stuffy on the inside because everybody was trying to squeeze the run out. We loosened them up with the pass. We had a few breaks and I got to score the first touchdown of the game. After that it was give and take. Every other runningback had to play so I had to share. I was happy to get the start. It was an honor and I didn't expect it because I was the junior. After the game I just packed my stuff up and headed back. I wanted to make sure I stayed focused because this is the part where people start to get a little lazy and are just ready for everything to happen.
Right now I'm waking up around seven in the morning. Then I'll eat some food and my day really starts around nine. I run from nine till eleven. Then I go home and lift weights at about noon and if it's a tuesday or thursday I do yoga at two in the afternoon. That yoga will whip your butt man. It's no joke. That's about what I do right now just run, lift weights, and do yoga. I just try to stay on the grind. I'll be heading out to the combine in about fourteen days. We'll see what happens after that. I'll just try to give them Ryan Moats, give them who I am. I want to show them that I have the passion for the game and that I'm the type of player they want on their team. All I can do is go out there and run and hope I get my shot.

I hope Moats will get his opportunity in the NFL. It would be nice to see a team take him the first day and maybe his combine will answer any outstanding questions. Good luck to him and everyone will soon see what we all already know......a very good football player with heart.

Moats is a complete gentleman. I truly hope that he get's the opportunity to show the world what we've been enjoying the last couple of years.
