I think the administration gets it and these things are being worked out......... I wish I knew more to elaborate.
I think the BB&B should look into the statues of both TB and Karl to see how much we are talking and if we couldn't do this as a long-term project, say a five year commitment....... Does anyone know anything about statues?
These would be worthwhile projects.

The way our entrance is set up there is NO room for a statue like this into the football stadium. It would be nice though.
A statue of Karl would be sweet outside the TAC, there is plenty of room on a level going up the steps to do something like this and it would be very nice.
We need something like this at the entrance to Stadium Drive ... with Terry on the left on Karl on the right!
It should go in the north end zone as part of Hogdawg's Walk of Fame!!! (and his beer garden..........) You could connect the two sides with a nice walk made up of bricks, ala just like on the main campus, except these bricks contain the names of lettering athletes from all sports by year. Highlighting conference championships, NC's, tournaments made, etc........ All of it centered around the most famous alumni and athlete from the school. Karl's statue should go at the TAC or near the entrance.Originally Posted by Gooddawg

The statues, which we haven't commissioned yet, should be located along the walkway steps between the JAS and the STAC.
This way, we'd have room for TB and Karl to have our more elite stars of the future (I hope) join them.

The north endzone could be made into the main entrance of the stadium. Put up nice brick columns and ticket booths. We could have a huge plaza with the statue of Bradshaw and plaques of Rattay, Edwards, Roaf, Stover Dunnigan, "Tank" Landry, Glenell Sanders and all of Tech's All-Americans. We could also have team plaques of the National Championship team, Independence Bowl Team, and Humanitarian Bowl Team. Put tables and benches, and let a local restraunt provide catering for the games thier. It would be truly unique to Tech.
This would "close in" the stadium on this end, connect the two sides, and be a place that our current Dawgs would strive to perform to get thier name placed.
That would be a project worth raising money towards.
Nice Post!!!! You are my horse, even if you never win a race.........Originally Posted by Tech XXIX

Your idea is very similar to the "Walk of Fame" project that DFIH and I proposed to Jim Oakes back in the summer of 2004. In fact, it sounds identical. So obviously we're behind you.Originally Posted by Tech XXIX
The north end zone is a huge opportunity just waiting to be taken advantage of. Lots of room to do lots of things. Making the north end another "entrance" would ease the traffiic on other entrances while also making the stadium more accessible to people tailgating down in tailgate alley.

In 1994, you couldn't walk 5 feet without seeing Farve's name at USM's stadium, so they must have built a monument in his honor by now.Originally Posted by splicer

THIS ALL SOUNDS AND LOOKS WONDERFUL. JUST REMEMBER THAT MICKEY SLAUGHTER WAS THE FIRST OF THE GREAT PASSING QUARTERBACKS THAT HAVE GONE THROUGH LA TECH AND HE WAS TERRY BRADSHAWS COACH. WHAT A SUPER LEADER AND TEACHER HE WAS. HE WAS A COACH ON THE FIELD WHEN HE PLAYED.
Mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know what happened but Memdawg didn't post the above statement.
