Rupert had an outstanding performance. He seemed to have as much velocity in the 8th as he did in the first. Probably could have pitched a complete game had we not made 3 errors in the 8th. Alverson has proven to be a very effective closer, even though in this game he got himself into a jam in the 9th.

After Rupert was pulled we kind of back our self into a couple of corners with errors. The dogs came back though and made some good plays on defense and we used a couple of long bombs to help us get the victory.

I hope we can get another win and win the series.

Makes the Nevada series all the more disappointing. I mean that in a positive way. Looks like the Dawgs are competing very well in the conference, and COULD be in the race until the end, but we have got to beat Nevada.

Oh well! All Tech can do right now is win this series with Rice. Worry about NU later.

With all of the analysis of the baseball team, the last post has it right. In any team sport if you play defense you win more than you lose; if you don't play defense you lose more than you win. It is that simple. They just have to catch the ball better.
